About
What is the CreatedBy Festival?
Boston Children’s Museum offers joyful STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) learning experiences for children and families every day of the year. During Mass STEM Week we kick the celebration into high gear with the CreatedBy Festival by celebrating and giving visitors access to our New England STEAM partners.
The CreatedBy Festival, produced by Boston Children’s Museum, is an annual showcase and festival of ingenuity, imagination, and cross-disciplinary creativity. CreatedBy is an event that brings together artists, inventors, fabricators, educators, local makers, STEAM professionals, and organizations that engage our visitors with hands-on activities. It is an opportunity for the creators that make Boston an international leader in innovation to share their work and inspire the next generation of visionaries.
Mission
Boston Children’s Museum believes deeply in the importance of introducing all young learners to hands-on STEAM experiences by highlighting local STEAM innovators. The CreatedBy Festival invites educators, students, families, and curious learners of all ages to celebrate and participate in hands-on learning experiences that are CreatedBy New England, CreatedBy Us, and CreatedBy You.
Goals
- Provide access and host the New England STEAM community for younger learners and their caregivers through hands-on exploration and STEAM experiences.
- Host a diverse range of STEAM subject areas and organizations so visitors can witness innovation happening in the fields, learn about accessible STEAM programming/resources, introduce a new technology not normally accessible (3D printers, robotics), and be introduced to various STEAM careers
